Kristin Monkman, Copywriter for Corporate Communications
Kristin Monkman is an award-winning writer and HR Communication specialist with 23 years of combined agency and corporate experience. She is the owner and president of Krisry Communications, founded in 2002 to provide clients with copywriting and communication consulting for Corporate Communications. The firm focuses on HR, Benefits, Total Rewards, and Employee Engagement communication programs with an emphasis on copywriting that creates compelling and engaging messages to motivate involvement and drive results.
Clients value her deep understanding of employee engagement and her view of employee communication as internal marketing designed to target behavior change. With a career spanning work in the transportation, energy, insurance, manufacturing, financial, and defense industries, Kristin has a global mindset and the unique ability to tailor audience-based messages to resonate with both internal and external stakeholders.

Before starting her own company, Kristin held positions at a variety of corporations and marketing communication firms, including Hewitt Associates, NIPSCO/NI Source Gas/Electric Utility Company; Funk/Luetke Public Relations (agency of record for Owens-Corning's employee communications), and Stahl Associates Advertising (agency of record for NW Ohio PepsiCo).
Kristin has been a member of IABC since 1990, and has held several IABC Board positions. In addition, she is a member of the Independent Writers of Chicago (IWOC), the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), World at Work, the Human Capital Institute (HCI), and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Kristin holds a degree in print media communications from the University of Toledo.
